Antony Blinken Deletes Post Calling for ‘Cease-Fire’ In Israel After Outcry

Secretary of State Antony Blinken deleted a statement on X calling for a cease-fire in Israel amid widespread outcry over it on Monday morning.

“Turkish Foreign Minister @HakanFidan and I spoke further on Hamas’ terrorist attacks on Israel. I encouraged Tükiye’s advocacy for a cease-fire and the release of all hostages held by Hamas immediately,” wrote Blinken on Sunday night.

The post was pilloried for the implication that Israel should not continue its counter-attack after the mass murder, rape, and kidnapping of its civilians by Hamas.
