BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Boca Raton resident Scott Mangini, out of federal prison after a conviction on peddling drugs to race horse trainers, is now facing child abuse charges in Palm Beach County.

While the arrest report continues to be processed late Saturday afternoon, BocaNewsNow.com has learned from the Palm Beach County Jail that Mangini is officially charged with “cruelty toward child — abuse child without great bodily harm.” Mangini was arrested by the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office early Saturday morning and booked into jail at 5:38 a.m. He remained held without bond as of 5 p.m. Mangini lives in the 17200 block of Boca Club Boulevard. It was not clear whether he is related to the child who allegedly was the subject of the “cruelty.”
