Rep. Byron Donalds called President Joe Biden the architect of "a disastrous economy," criticizing the term "Bidenomics" while expressing concern over the cost of living.
Donalds's statement on Sunday comes as about four in 10 people in the United States believe that either the economy or the cost of living is the biggest issue the country is currently facing, according to a poll released this past week. The Florida congressman said that the issue with the economy is not the messaging of "Bidenomics," but is "Bidenomics" in and of itself, which he said has led to everyone falling behind financially, especially for poor and middle-class people.
"And so this situation with ‘'Bidenomics'’ or whatever you want to call it, I just call it stupid economic policy, no need to put his name to it, but we can do that for politics’ sake," Donalds said on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo. "Everybody has been hurting. Our economy is stagnating. Inflation is still here, still sticky, and it’s caused a problem for the way Americans live their lives day to day."
