Byron Donalds uses primetime speech to stump for school choice

Florida Rep. Byron Donalds focused his primetime speech tonight on boosting “school choice,” a conservative approach to education where states provide vouchers to families to use at charter or private schools.

The Florida Republican told the story about how his mother and grandmother sacrificed and saved so he could attend private school to get a better education when he was growing up in Brooklyn. He and his wife, Erika Donalds, have both been influential in education policy.
