CORAL SPRINGS, FL – Last year, Coral Springs police arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly raping a woman in a Coral Springs hotel and then hiding from police in a suitcase.

Tyshawn Dias, of Sunrise, was charged with sexual battery and burglary after allegedly going into a room of the woman at Studio 6 at 5645 University Drive, and raping her while her 4-year-old son was in the bed.

But as police looked deeper, they determined Dias was at the hotel with another woman, Shawnice Ingram, 30, and a third woman – who Dias and Ingram allegedly trafficked into a life of prostitution in South Florida, according to a police report. Read more here.

That investigation led police and city officials to scrutinize the management of the hotel, owned by Hare Krishna Coral Springs LLC.
