DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Delray Beach man was allegedly so high that he thought someone was in the closet of the room he shares with his girlfriend. He allegedly took a gun, shot the closet, only to hit a housemate in the room on the other side of the wall where the closet stands.

The incident occurred in Lantana in September. After a multi-month investigation, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office just arrested Jacob Salcedo of the 500 block of West Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach. The investigation allegedly revealed that Salcedo had a substantial amount of narcotics at the time of the shooting — and the weapon used to shoot and injure the housemate.

Salcedo is now charged with “trafficking in a controlled substance, ” “trafficking in — or possessing — 14 or more grams of amphetamine,” and “possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted Florida felon.” According to the police report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Salcedo possessed 4-14g of Fentanyl while armed.
