OKEECHOBEE, Fla. (CBS12) — The Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office (OCSO) is warning people of a scam that five people have fallen victim to.
The sheriff's office says they are meeting with a sixth person who may have fallen victim to the same scam.
According to deputies, the hacker will gain access to the victim's friend or family member's Facebook account. They will then send a message to all friends on the friends' list asking for a phone number.
