WASHINGTON, D.C. – In a bipartisan effort, Florida lawmakers attended a hearing to grill U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle about the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania on July 13.
On Monday, the House Oversight Committee received few specific answers on a timeline, motive, or other details of the assassination attempt which killed one man and seriously injured at least two other people.
Many members called for Cheatle to be fired or step down from her position. Despite this, Cheatle showed no indication of intending to do so.
