TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Top Florida Republicans denounced the Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling kicking former President Donald Trump off the state’s primary ballot.
The court said Trump violated the Fourteenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution; specifically, that he engaged in rebellion or insurrection.
“We will swiftly appeal to the United States Supreme Court and a concurrent request for a stay of this deeply undemocratic decision,” a Trump campaign spokesman said. “We have full confidence that the U.S. Supreme Court will quickly rule in our favor.”
Gov. Ron DeSantis, competing with Trump for the nomination, said Tuesday night that U.S. Supreme Court should reverse the Colorado ruling.
