WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Florida could soon join the growing list of states attempting to shield children from online porn.
House Bill 3 would require sexually explicit websites to verify users’ age.
“We will take bold steps like age verification to rescue our children from technology that cripples their sense of self-worth and purpose,” said Republican House Speaker Paul Renner.
As he opened this year’s session of the Florida legislature, House Speaker Renner slammed social media and pornography websites for harming Florida’s children.
