Gov. DeSantis commits to $1.25 billion teacher salary increase

HIALEAH, Fla. (CBS12) — Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has announced that he plans to increase funding for teacher salaries by $1.25 billion in the next Fiscal Year 2024–25 budget.

This is part of a larger effort by the state, which has already reportedly invested more than $4 billion in teacher raises since 2019, leading to an increase in teachers' starting salaries of almost $10,000.
