ORLANDO, Fla. (CBS12) — On Monday, a man from Orange County was sentenced to over 50 years behind bars after he was found guilty of trafficking three women — branding one and cutting her hair.
According to the Office of Attorney General Ashley Moody, Joselito Martinez trafficked three women, forcing the victims into sex work through violence. Following an investigation, Martinez recruited one victim from a dating app, and after meeting her for the first time, managed to convince the woman to move in with promises of drugs and money. After the victim moved in, Martinez forced the woman into sex work, investigators said.
Through this victim, Martinez came into contact with two other women, then subsequently forced these victims into sex work as well.
