It’s Hurricane Preparedness Week here on CBS 12 News. Each day this week the CBS 12 StormTrac Weather Team will cover ways you can prepare your home and family for the upcoming season.
Sunday’s topic is Know Your Risk.
Hurricane season begins on June 1st and ends on November 30th, but this is not a set-in-stone timeframe. There have been years when tropical systems have developed before the season begins and after the season ends.
The season historically peaks on September 10th with a smaller secondary peak occurring in mid-October before tropical activity begins to decrease by late October.
