(TND) — Republicans have been hammering the Biden administration over what they say is a "crisis" resulting from "radical open border policies."
Now, they're making their argument by laying out how immigration hits Americans where it counts most: their pocketbooks.
The current immigration policies “are making it harder for Americans to put gas in their cars and put food on the table,” House Homeland Security Committee Chair Mark Green said in a video after he and his colleagues released a new report with what they say is an ongoing "comprehensive oversight investigation into the causes, costs, and consequences of the crisis at the Southwest border."
The new report cites a couple of calculations of the comprehensive cost of immigration on American taxpayers.
