BOCA RATON, Fla. — The United States Department of Transportation is granting Boca Raton $4 million as part of the 'Safe Streets for All' program.
The money will allow city leaders to research which roads are most dangerous and come up with solutions before securing funding for construction.
"I’ve seen communities that will sometimes sketch out a new roadway traffic pattern with paint before concrete to see if it will work the way they think it will before they lock in all of that money into the new design," U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said.
Boca Raton was one of 99 cities selected for grant money across the nation.
