WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A man faces life in prison after being accused of grooming a child and exploiting her to engage in commercial sexual acts for financial gain.
Raul Brown, 42, known as "JB", was arrested on several charges that include human trafficking of a child for commercial sexual activity and promoting sexual activity of a child, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) says.
The investigation into Brown began on June 25 after a deputy was assigned to investigate the sex trafficking of a girl who was a 17-year-old at the time, a PBSO arrest report states.
The Department of Children and Family (DCF) Services alleged the girl, who is now 19, was forced to work at local strip clubs against her will and perform sexual acts with a man on at least one occasion, the report says.
