Neighborhood crime watch volunteer, 9-year-old son witness murder in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Jason Fogelman leads a new neighborhood watch at Fort Lauderdale’s Coral Ridge Isles. He said has had an eye on a house for rent on Airbnb, and he and his 9-year-old son witnessed a murder there on Saturday.

Fogelman called police officers after the shooting at about 1 p.m. Surveillance videos show when the shooting victim, who authorities confirmed is 20 years old and from Pompano Beach, dropped to the ground when his friends tried to save him.

“These Airbnb have been bringing problems to our neighborhood for years,” Fogelman wrote in an e-mail.
