PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — While agriculture, tourism and construction industries drove Palm Beach County's economy for years, there's been a new trend with other industries bringing the most number of jobs in the area.
"Our Wall Street South initiative is bringing in the most income to Palm Beach County," Kelly Smallridge, president and CEO of the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County, told WPBF 25 News.
"For 40 years, was built on some really solid industries of tourism, agriculture, and construction. And yet today, it’s showing that Wall Street South, health care and life sciences, and corporate headquarters are leading in those three areas."
New findings from data compiled over the past 32 years show health care and life science industries are bringing in the highest number of jobs, at 99,726 jobs.
