STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — The man accused of violently attacking a woman in the parking lot of a Stuart grocery store before stealing her vehicle reportedly told investigators he just left a local drug and alcohol rehab facility.
He claimed to have walked out of the rehab and took an Uber to the Publix, on Cove Road, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) wrote in an update. MSCO explained the man, identified as Carlos Manuel Lozada, hails from New York and said he wanted to get back home.
Lozada, 37, is accused of attacking the victim as she left the grocery store. He allegedly stole her belongings and drove off in her vehicle.
