In the last several weeks, 47 of the nation’s top 50 universities have seen protests turn into riots. Arkansas Republican Sen. Tom Cotton says his new bill is aimed at anti-Jewish protestors who break the law. His proposal would ban any student convicted of crimes during these – or any other protests – making them “ineligible for student debt forgiveness, cancellation, waiver, or modification of certain Federal student loans.”
Cotton’s bill, called the “No Bailouts for Campus Criminals Act“, would prevent so-called “bailouts” from being given to anyone convicted of federal or state crimes convicted of protesting at college campuses.
“They (taxpayers) especially shouldn’t have to pay off the loans of Hamas sympathizers shutting down and defacing campuses,” said Cotton.
