BOCA RATON, Fla. (CBS12) — More voters think the Democratic Party should replace President Joe Biden as their nominee than do the number who think the incumbent should remain on the ballot, according to a new Florida Atlantic University poll.
The survey, which was conducted by Mainstreet Research, found that only four in ten registered voters believe the party should give President Biden a chance for a second term. Forty-five percent, however, think the party should nominate someone else in August.
When it comes down to who should top the ticket instead, Democratic voters split, with a plurality favoring Vice President Kamala Harris (25%), followed closely by former First Lady Michelle Obama (21%). California Governor Gavin Newsom was the only other prospective candidate who broke into double-digits, at 17%.
