FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A former school employee in Broward County was arrested over the weekend on disturbing allegations, police announced Monday.

According to authorities, 32-year-old Rubyne Burrows was working as a school security monitor at William Dandy Middle School in Fort Lauderdale when the incident occurred on Feb. 27.

Police said it was on that date that a Fort Lauderdale police school resource officer responded to the school and was shown cellphone video taken by a student, which showed Burrows placing another student in a headlock and slamming the student into a concrete planter box.

The video also showed Burrows slapping the student in the face and applying pressure to his neck, according to his arrest report.
