Port St. Lucie assistant principal accused of punching daughter's boyfriend

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A Port St. Lucie assistant principal is charged with cruelty to children and battery.

53-year-old Ovidio Rivera was arrested Tuesday after getting into a fight with a teenage boy.

Rivera is an assistant principal at Somerset College Preparatory Academy – a charter high school in Port St Lucie.

On Monday, Port St. Lucie Police were called to a shopping center on St. Lucie West Blvd., by the Walmart after customers saw Rivera beating up a teenager who turned out to be his daughter’s boyfriend.
