BOCA RATON, FL (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A postal worker was robbed at gunpoint in West Boca Raton on Wednesday. The worker was not injured, but the master key carried by postal workers was snatched.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the robbery occurred around 5 p.m. in the 6200 block of Old Court Road in Boca Raton. That’s near the YMCA in West Boca. Police tell BocaNewsNow.com that the suspect “demanded” the USPS “arrow key” and vehicle key. The thug then fled on foot. The United States Postal Inspector Service is investigating. So far, no arrests.
There has been an increase in postal-related thefts and incidents in South Palm Beach County over the past several months. Police in Delray Beach just made an arrest that allegedly involved several postal thieves. And an arrest at the Cortland Apartments in “Uptown Boca” earlier this year also led to the jailing of suspects allegedly involved with postal crimes.
