Highly visible in Boca at events from Chamber breakfasts to fundraisers, former Palm Beach County mayor Robert (Bob) Weinroth just announced he’s running for the 23rd District U.S. Congressional seat as a Republican.

As a Democrat, Weinroth changed parties and has been keeping a high profile since he was defeated by Republican Marci Woodward for his county commission district 4 seat in the December 2022 election. Weinroth only lost by 3,458 votes.

He posts coverage and photos of all the events he and his wife Pamela Weinroth attend on his Facebook page. And most followers thought it was just a matter of time before the former Boca Raton city councilman ran for office again. Most talked about was replacing longtime Palm Beach County school board president Frank Barbieri. Barbieri announced he would retire when his term was over.
