WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A man who previously went to prison in 2013 for burglarizing a home and assaulting a woman living there has allegedly committed an almost identical crime a decade later. Only this time the victim is just 13 years old.
In late June, the victim and her mother were sleeping in the same bed when the teenager woke up because she felt someone's hand under the shorts she was sleeping in. She rolled over to see a hooded man with a handkerchief covering his face standing at her bedside. He raised one finger to his mouth for her to remain quiet while he pointed his cellphone at her as if he was recording, the arrest affidavit said.
This scenario closely mirrored a similar crime from 2013, when a 35-year-old woman woke to find a man in her bedroom, touching her. Fingerprints from the windowsill in that incident led investigators to then 20-year-old Victor Blanco. The man — a known burglar — was charged with burglary with assault and simple battery.
