A Florida man faces charges in Pennsylvania after a multi-year investigation revealed he persuaded dozens of minors locally and across the world to send sexually explicit photos and videos on social media in a "sextortion" scheme, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg.
PSP traveled to Miami and arrested Alvaro Andres Valarez Sandoval at his home on Jan. 18, with assistance from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Miami-Dade Police Department, according to a news release.
He will be extradited to Franklin County, Pa., where he will be arraigned on 26 felony counts, most of them related to child pornography, court records show.
