GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Three males were arrested and one female victim was rescued in a recent Green Bay human trafficking sting operation.

“These are not easy cases. Traffickers tend to target those with vulnerabilities, such as poverty, homelessness or drug addiction, and our detectives deserve credit for convictions. It’s continuous work to find those who are involved and gain the trust of victims that we’re here to help, so they don’t end up being part of a cycle,” said Captain Jeff Brester with the Green Bay Police Department.

Police say the half-day sting operation was conducted on Dec. 7. While investigators aren't releasing many details, it was the victim's rescue, according to police, that was impetus of that particular operation.

"We make an arrest and then based off the arrest, we do our interviews and we try to get a lot of intelligence gathering -- how things are within the community -- because the reality is, these people involved, they understand what's going on in our community more than the police do," added Brester.
