West Palm Beach has temporarily reduced evening parking rates at its five downtown garages in a bid to boost local restaurants.
From 5 p.m. to midnight Monday through Friday, drivers will pay a flat fee of $2 to park in city garages instead of usual rate of $1 for the first two hours, $2 for each additional half-hour and a maximum daily rate of $20.
The reduced rates, which began on Monday and will run through Oct. 8, are in coordination with Flavor Palm Beach, which runs through September.
Drivers will only pay the reduced rate if they enter a garage after 5 p.m. and leave before midnight. A $20 lost ticket fee is still in effect.
